Serbs in northern Kosovo set to form Assembly

SOURCE: BETA
ZVEČAN -- Representatives of Serbs from northern Kosovo have decided to hold a constitutive session of the Assembly of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija.

The session will be held on June 6.

This was decided on Friday during a meeting in the town of Zvečan.

Zvečan Municipal Assembly President Gvozdić Gvozdić told Beta that the mayors of the four Serb towns in the north did not attend because they are in Belgrade today for talks with Deputy PM Aleksandar Vučić.

The Kosovska Mitrovica district chief was also absent for the same reason.

Gvozdić explained that the decision was made by the Coordinating Body, made up of heads of local self-governments, chiefs of councilor groups in local assemblies, and representatives of political parties in northern Kosovo.
