Επίτροπος Χαν: Προβλήματα με τις ιδιοκτησίες στην Αλβανία

Στα προβλήματα με τα ιδιοκτησιακά δικαιώματα στην Αλβανία αναφέρεται ο Επίτροπος Γιοχάνες Χαν σε συνέντευξή του στη Deutsche Welle, την οποία αναδημοσιεύουν η εφημερίδα Σέκουλι και άλλες αλβανικές εφημερίδες.

Ο Επίτροπος Χαν, όπως αναφέρει η εφημερίδα, επισημαίνει ότι το νομοθετικό πλαίσιο για τα ιδιοκτησιακά δικαιώματα στην Αλβανία, παρουσιάζει νομικές και πρακτικές αδυναμίες.

Προσθέτει παράλληλα ότι η Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή παρακολουθεί τα παράπονα που εκφράζονται για τις ιδιοκτησίες στη Χειμάρρα και σε όλη τη χώρα.

Ο κ. Χαν. αναφέρει επίσης πως πρόκειται για πολύπλοκες υποθέσεις οι οποίες ανάγονται στο παρελθόν ενώ υποστήριξε μεταξύ άλλων πως δεν έχει τακτοποιηθεί πλήρως το ζήτημα με τους τίτλους ιδιοκτησίας, παρά τη συνεχή προσπάθεια.

Επισημαίνει τέλος ότι Ευρωπαϊκή Επιτροπή, παραμένει προσηλωμένη στην υποστήριξη της Αλβανίας σχετικά με την επίλυση των υποθέσεων που συνδέονται με τα ιδιοκτησιακά δικαιώματα.

Η Ευρωπαϊκή Ένωση ενέκρινε την αλλαγή των συνόρων μεταξύ της Σερβίας και του Κοσσυφοπεδίου, δήλωσε  ο Επίτροπος της Διεύρυνσης της ΕΕ, Γιόχανες Χαν.


Τόνισε ότι οι εδαφικές αλλαγές θα μπορούσαν να αποτελέσουν μέρος της συμφωνίας για την ομαλοποίηση των σχέσεων μεταξύ των δύο πλευρών.


Σε συνέντευξή του στην «Washington Post» ο Χαν είπε ότι μια  νομικά δεσμευτική συμφωνία μεταξύ των δύο χωρών θα καλύψει θέματα ευρύτερα από τα συνοριακά θέματα και ότι «ένα από τα βασικά στοιχεία μιας μελλοντικής συνθήκης θα πρέπει να είναι ο σεβασμός των δικαιωμάτων των μειονοτήτων».


 «Σε αυτό το στάδιο κανείς δεν μπορεί να προβλέψει ποιο θα είναι το τελικό αποτέλεσμα. Πιθανή ανταλλαγή εδαφών σε κάθε περίπτωση μπορεί να είναι, αν θέλετε,  το τελευταίο μέρος του παζλ. Η μόνη προϋπόθεση είναι μια διμερή συμφωνία που θα συμβάλλει στην ειρήνη και τη σταθερότητα στην περιοχή», είπε.


Σύμφωνα, εξάλλου, με η αυστριακή εφημερίδα «Der Stardand», η καγκελάριος της Γερμανίας  Άνγκελα Μέρκελ  θα θέσει στο τραπέζι ειδικό καθεστώς για το βόρειο Κοσσυφοπέδιο, ώστε να είναι μέρος  της Ένωσης Σερβικών Δήμων, όπως προβλέπεται από τη συμφωνία των Βρυξελλών, αλλά δεν έχει ακόμη εφαρμοσθεί.


Με τον τρόπο αυτόν η Γερμανίδα ηγέτης θέλει να κρατήσει την ιδέα της διαφοροποίησης, η οποία υποστηρίχθηκε από την Ύπατο Εκπρόσωπο της Ένωσης για Θέματα Εξωτερικής Πολιτικής και Πολιτικής Ασφάλειας, Φεντερίκα Μογκερίνι και του Επιτρόπου Γιόχανες Χαν.


Η Μέρκελ από την αρχή ήταν ενάντια στην ιδέα της αλλαγής των συνόρων για το φόβο των ταραχών στα Βαλκάνια.

Το Βερολίνο πιστεύει ότι είναι απαραίτητο πάνω από όλα «μια καλή και όχι γρήγορη συμφωνία» μεταξύ Βελιγραδίου και Πρίστινα.


Η συνάντηση μεταξύ Μακρόν και Μέρκελ θα πραγματοποιηθεί  τις 29 Απριλίου στο Βερολίνο. Θα παραστούν ο πρόεδρος της Σερβίας, Αλεξάνταρ Βούτσιτς, η πρωθυπουργός της Σερβίας, Άννα Μπαρνάβιτς, πρόεδρος και ο πρωθυπουργός του Κοσσυφοπεδίου, Χασίμ Θάτσι και Ραμούς Χαραντινάι καθώς και ο πρωθυπουργός και ο πρόεδρος της Αλβανίας,  Έντι Ράμα και Ιλίρ Μέτα.

Ivica Dacic says it additional pressure on Belgrade and Pristina to continue the dialogue is expected at the upcoming meeting in Berlin.

The minister of foreign affairs of Serbia told RTS that Pristina must revoke taxes (on goods from central Serbia) first for this to happen.

"There is additional pressure on Serbia in order to appease Pristina to revoke taxes," Dacic said.

According to him, there is also speculation about "dual sovereignty" that was not officially proposed as a solution to the Kosovo problem. He says that this idea is unacceptable to Serbia

Dacic explained that dual sovereignty means that a referendum could be held in northern Kosovo "after a decade."

"This solution means that Serbia would recognize Kosovo, that this part (northern Kosovo) would be under dual sovereignty, and that a referendum is held one day," said Serbia's Dacic, adding Serbia finds this idea to be unacceptable.

He said that nobody has officially presented this solution, and added that such a thing "does not exist anywhere in the world" - and that he "does not see why Serbia would accept it."

Dacic said that the Berlin meeting on April 29, with participation of German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Emmanuel Macron and representatives of Belgrade and Pristina, has been organized "to the enormous surprise of Brussels (EU)."

"Many countries, such as Austria and Italy, are unhappy that it will be held. Geopolitical games are being played not only with Russia and China, but also among the countries of the West," Dacic said.

Η υπουργός Άμυνας Όλτα Τζάσκα, πραγματοποιεί  επίσημη επίσκεψη στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες, μια επίσκεψη που θα εστιασθεί στην εκσυγχρονισμό της Πολεμικής Αεροπορίας.



Η Τζάσκα θα συναντηθεί με τον υπουργό Άμυνας Πάτρικ Μ. Σαναχάν.


Η υπουργός  Άμυνας θα υπογράψει συμφωνία για τον εκσυγχρονισμό της Πολεμικής Αεροπορίας.
Η συμφωνία προβλέπει την παράδοση ορισμένων ελικοπτέρων Black Hawk, συμπεριλαμβανομένης της συντήρησης  και της εκπαίδευσης του προσωπικού που θα χρησιμοποιήσει.


Όπως επισημαίνεται, πριν από ένα χρόνο η Τζάσκα είχε γίνει δεκτή από πρώην υπουργό Άμυνας των ΗΠΑ, Τζέιμς Ματίς.

Albanian media made up "dual sovereignty" story - president

President Aleksandar Vucic says Serbia has been offered nothing resembling "dual sovereignty" over the north of Kosovo.

Therefore, nothing of the kind will happen in Berlin, Vucic told a news conference on Thursday. The meeting will take place at the end of April, dedicated to Kosovo and organized by Germany and France.

"Shared sovereignty is always something that is a problematic legal category, while the so-called dual sovereignty - I don't know what that means. But nobody told me that, nobody offered us that, and something like that will not happen in Berlin," he said.

"That invented by an Albanian (language) newspaper," he continued, "And then we yammer on about it for 15 days. What can you do. That business will come to nothing," Vucic said.

Albanians must know that without compromise with Serbia they will never have anything, said the president.

"The the international community, too, Germany, the United States and France must know that without compromise, pressure does not help," Vucic told reporters.

The president said that a difficult period is ahead of our country, though not decisive, and that he expects more pressure.

He added that he himself is exposed to demands that Belgrade "do something, so that Albanians would revoke taxes (on products from central Serbia)" - and that this is taking place on a daily basis.

"My answer is, don't humiliate Serbia," Vucic said.

The president added that Serbia will fight using civilized methods, that Belgrade ha waited six months without introducing reciprocal measure after Pristina introduced its taxes, but that Belgrade cannot wait forever without a response.

"I will also tell that to Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Emmanuel Macron," Vucic said.

Serbs from Kosovo reach Belgrade on foot ahead of rally

President Aleksandar Vucic on Thursday received a group of Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija, who last Friday departed from northern Kosovo.

They will tomorrow attend a rally in the capital, organized as part of Vucic's "Future of Serbia" campaign.

Vucic received the group in the Presidency, where they came carrying a banner they took with them throughout the trip, reading, "Serbs from KiM (Kosovo and Metohija), for Serbia and Vucic"."

This group of 27 young men reached Belgrade after walking through Raska, Usce, Kraljevo, Mrcajevci, Preljina, Ljig, Lajkovac, and Stepojevac.

The president is expected to address reporters after the meeting, when, according to announcements, he will speak about the April 29 meeting in Berlin dedicated to Kosovo and Metohija.

Η αλβανική αστυνομία συνόρων στην Κακαβιά ματαίωσε μια προσπάθεια εμπορίας όπλων και πυρομαχικών. Ένας 49χρονος Έλληνας προσπάθησε να περάσει στη γειτονική χώρα λαθραία στρατιωτικά όπλα και πυρομαχικά, γράφει η αλβανική ‘Opinion’.



Η αστυνομία αναφέρει ότι κατάσχεσε περίπου 800 φυσίγγια κατά έλεγχο του οχήματος του Έλληνα πολίτη Ε.Φ. που κατοικεί στα Ιωάννινα.


Μέσα στο όχημά του βρέθηκε ένα μεταλλικό κουτί που ήταν τυλιγμένο με ύφασμα και μια πλαστική σακούλα μέσα στην οποία υπήρχαν πυρομαχικά σε γεμιστήρες διαμέτρου 7,62 χιλιοστών.


Στον συλληφθέντα θα ασκηθεί δίωξη από την αστυνομία του Αργυρόκαστρου για ‘εμπορία πυροβόλων όπλων και πυρομαχικών’.

Dutch MPs Propose the Suspending of Visa-Free Travel for Albanians in the Schengen Zone

 Albania-EUA group of four Dutch Parliament members has initiated a motion to cancel temporarily visa-free traveling for Albanian nationals in the Schengen Zone.

On April 11th, the Dutch Parliament debated on this motion, securing the support of the majority. Now the Parliament will ask the government of the Netherlands to propose to the European Commission to initiate the “emergency brake” procedure, which enables the suspension of visa-free travel.

The motion was filed by MP Madeleine van Toorenburg of the Christian Democrats, Liberal-Conservative Jeroen van Wijngaarden who was a co-author, Jasper van Dijk from the Socialist Party a co-petitions and fellow Nico Drost from the Christian Union, as a move on fight against organized crime.

“The room, after hearing the deliberation,

noting that there has been a substantial increase in criminal activities by the Albanian Mafia in the Netherlands and these criminal organizations are abusing the possibility of traveling through Europe visa-free and thus further expanding their smuggling network;

noting that the suspension of the visa requirement for Albania was subject to various conditions, including the fight against cross-border crime;

calls on the government to submit a request to the European Commission to initiate the emergency braking procedure to temporarily suspend Albania’s visa liberalization and to inform the House of progress,” the note on the decision of the Parliament reads.

Motion submitter and MP Van Toorenburg, said to the plenary that there are 6 times more Albanians in the Netherlands than officially registered.

The Emergency Break is a Schengen Visa suspension mechanism regulated through EC Regulation 1289/2013. It permits the suspension the visa exemption for third country nationals in specific occasions considered as “emergency situations”. The suspension can take place with a simple majority of votes by the European Commission.

In January 2018, France had also threatened to restore the Schengen Visa regime for Albanians after the country received 7,630 asylum applications from Albanians in 2017. Link

Thousands of Greek Americans gathered at the iconic Fifth Ave in New York City to attend the annual Greek parade in honor of Greece’s Independence on Sunday April 14.

The Parade celebrates the 198th anniversary of Greek Independence from the Ottoman Empire.



Led by Grand Marshal George M. Marcus, this year’s Parade has over 40 floats and almost 100 different organizations showcasing their Greek pride as they make their way north from 64th Street to 79th Street.

The parade began at the corner of 63rd Street and 5th Avenue and the participants marched to 79th Street. The parade attended several bands and floats along with hundreds Greek organizations such as schools, communities, associations and federations.

The Greek Independence Day Parade is the largest gathering of Greek-Americans living outside Greece and has been an important tradition since 1938. It is a parade dedicated to the shared values between Greece and the U.S. and is a day of remembrance, honor and inspiration for all Greek-Americans.

The parade is organized by the Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater New York, a non-profit organization established in 1938 and comprised of over 200 groups in the New York City area. Representing societies from over 100 regions in Greece, its aim is to preserve and promote Greek culture and heritage through cultural events and programs.
