Skopje. Glorification of the 100th anniversary of Albania’s independence and the Albanian Flag, which the Macedonian part of the population considered a provocation and an attempt to radicalise the relations, will have its culmination on Sunday at the Boris Trajkovski Sports Hall, writes Macedonian Utrinski Vesnik daily.
In parts of Skopje, as well as in Gostivar, Tetovo, Struga and Kicevo, there will be Albanian flags waving in the air.
Two young men from Struga – Artan Zuta and Vigan Bilali, placed an Albanian flag in 10-metre depth in the Stuga part of the Ohrid Lake, probably again as part of the plans of the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI) for this glorification to be empty of clichés and ordinariness.
The coordination staff, headed by deputy prime minister Musa Dzaferi, who is organiser of the glorification, and which also involves NGOs and the Institute for spiritual development of the Albanians, expects 15,000 to 20,000 guests at the manifestations in Skopje. The prime ministers of Albania and Kosovo – Seli Berisha and Hashim Thaci, have confirmed their attendance and will make speeches.
