"Name of election list to be discussed with OSCE"

BELGRADE -- Ivica Dačić says the dispute concerning the "Citizens' Initiative Serbia list in local elections in Kosovo "should be resolved through talks with the OSCE."

The prime minister added that the list "must be clearly marked as Serbian because it is backed by Serbia."
“This was the idea. Let us now examine the argumentation behind it. Minister (Aleksandar) Vulin who tackled this matter operatively will certainly discuss this,” Dačić said and added that this is not the only controversial list as there are several more which contain the name of Serbia in their title, while some others contain the name of Montenegro.

“This is matter of politicisation of something currently very important but this is very harmful,” Dačić noted.

He said that it is harmful for such topics to be elevated to the political level and made problematic because everything could have been solved through working groups as was the case with the symbols on the ballots.

“In this way, the matter is elevated to the political level and it is assessed who won and who lost. This is ridiculous but it can also jeopardise everything else,” Dačić said.

The prime minister also pointed to manipulation by Priština concerning the agreement on a positive area code for Kosovo which, according to Priština, entails recognition of independence and underscored that the agreement clearly states that the area code would be granted and the mode to achieve this should be discussed over the next three months.
