Let's unify the Albanian agenda
The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, announced that the meeting in November of both governments will be held in the city of Prizren.

During a speech held in the Kosovo Parliament, which organized a solemn ceremony for the visit of the new Albanian Government leader, Rama underlined that in the Prizren meeting both governments will discuss projects of the Albanian sphere without considering borders.

“We will discuss the practice of strategic co-governing through meetings that will be held at least once in six months. We will develop a strategic cooperation in many levels, especially now that Kosovo is in a new phase”, Rama declared.

Joint government meeting

Prime Ministers Edi Rama and Hashim Thaci held a joint press conference after their meeting, announcing the idea of a joint meeting of both governments. They also announced a joint action in economy and energy, and the will to resolve any unfinished project between the two countries.

“I fully trust that Prime Minister Edi Rama, the Albanian Foreign Ministry and the Albanian government will play an important role in the next Kosovo’s future recognitions. 101 countries have recognized Kosovo so far. We discussed the importance of including Kosovo in the Trans Adriatic Pipeline gas project, and Mr.Rama promised to be personally involved with his respective ministers to make Kosovo part of this project. We discussed that it is very important to complete the 400 KW energetic interconnection between Kosovo and Albania. I fully trust that the cooperation will be excellent. I fully trust Mr.Rama as a Prime Minister and as his friend, same as the citizens of Kosovo trust his vision for a European Albania”, Thaci declared.

“We agreed to hold the first joint meeting on November, and to start the strategic joint governing between Albania and Kosovo, which means that the time when good desires left unfinished should be replaced by a time when all objectives and tasks are decided in the joint meetings of both governments, and every Minister should report to both governments periodically about the progress of the projects and the implementation of our joint tasks”, Rama declared.

Thaci welcomes Rama with solemn ceremony

Rama attended his first official visit in Kosovo as Prime Minister of Albania, followed by a group of ministers of his cabinet, which is waiting for the vote of confidence. Rama was received with a state ceremony by his Kosovo homologue, Mr.Hashim Thaci.

This is his first visit in this country as a Prime Minister. Rama has visited Kosovo before as Mayor of Tirana and as Socialist Party leader.

This visit is symbolic, a priority of the new Albanian government, but also a work meeting, since Kosovo and Albania have a series of joint matters that need to progress and resolved.
