Pirro Dimas: Law of citizenship to foreigners determines Constitution

After removing the issue of pensions for the Greek minority in Albania, PASOK deputy in the Greek parliament, Pirro Dimas said the decision of the High Council of State to revoke the law "Ragusi", which was granted the right of immigrants to obtain citizenship Greek.

Referring to the statement of Socrates, that "the Greeks called them to take our education and not those that have the same origin," Dimas, according to the newspaper "Ta Nea", notes that in Greece, in the 21st century, the Supreme Court denied requests formal Act of 2010. "If you do not want to dwell on political considerations, the Council of state, among others, says that is not enough for 6 years to go to school to prove they are naturalized in Greek, but if we consider that what kind of education offered to our children, can hardly resist, "says Greek MP from Himara.

So according to him, the decision of the court to waive formal criteria for granting citizenship, in no way can be interpreted as an opportunity for obstruction, delay and arbitrariness. "In Greece, courts do not make laws. Who is Greek and what criteria they must meet to become such, this is determined by law. This is stated in the Constitution, "concludes Dimas.
