Thursday, 14 February 2013
Foreign Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos met at the Foreign Ministry today with representatives of the Greek National Minority in Albania, with whom he discussed major issues facing the members of the Minority.

During the meeting, Mr. Avramopoulos stressed Greece’s firm commitment to support the Greek National Minority, underscoring that the state will do everything in its power so that the problems of Hellenism in Albanian can be confronted.

Note:

The people of Northern Epirus, has deepened his faith with Athens

The ethnic Greek minority in Albania, currently in the mostly delicate phase of its existence, is more divided than ever in its history, as a result of apathetic policy of Athens, (probably intentional) and its leaders. What is seen in the horizon, is the lack of transparency, for which, people in Northern Epirus, should be said openly: "Do not go to the polls, the Albanian government, has been deleted you, from the list".

This confusing situation for the people of Northern Epirus, strangely are viewed in light of the creation of the Greater Albania, in which Athens, holds the recognition of Kosovo, while the response of the Albanians, seen day by day, as the anti Greek reaction, to practice a step, by "ethnic cleansing, to the Greeks in Northern Epirus".

A series of actions to mutual, Tirana - Athens, as happened with the "deletion" of the Greek Minority by Albanian Census list, deletion of the religios composition of the Orthodox Church in Albania, the property issue and registration process be failed by OSCE (is recording in favor of Albanian state), the blocking of pensions, abusing for not giving citizenship by Greek authorities in Athens, has caused a serious of crises at the inter Community of Northern Epirus.
