Meta also emphasized once again that some extremist groups, attempt to poison the relations between the two countries and the two peoples

Albania - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Ilir Meta speaks on the Constitutional Court’s decision on the continental shelf agreement between Albania and Greece

During a conversation with journalists, Mr. Meta said that the governing majority will respect the decision and authority of the Constitutional Court and that the Government will offer its arguments, when the reasons for such a decision come out, in full transparency to the public opinion.

Mr. Meta also emphasized that despite some extremist groups that attempt to poison the relations between the two countries and the two peoples, Greece remains one

of the principal supporters of Albania’s European integration and the visa liberalization process for Albanian citizens. Mr. Meta added that the clarification of sea borders with Greece and with Montenegro, is a priority for the Albanian Government.....

However, as Minister of Foreign Affairs, I cannot shut my eyes and cannot be quiet when extreme elements, I emphasize, in Albanian politics, who thankfully are in minority and isolated from our society, constantly attempt to poison the relationship between our countries and our peoples. Their position does not serve anyone, it serves only those groups who desire to turn our relationship backwards, in the past...
