Skopje. Authorities in Athens have been keeping silent about the political situation in Macedonia but eventually they came up with a position, comments Macedonian Vecer daily.

Greek Foreign Minister Dimitris Avramopoulos preferred to remain rather reserved about Greece’s expectation from the next round of the name issue talks with Macedonia.
Vecer writes further that it was a matter of time for Athens to take advantage of the political crisis in Macedonia.

“The political crisis and the upcoming elections in Macedonia tell us that we should not cherish too high expectations. The crisis confirmed what we have been alarming about when the report of the European Commission (EC) was released, and namely that it is dangerous to sweep the problems under the carpet.

Under the standards of the European Union (EU), it is not enough to simply adopt some laws, which remain only on paper, to secure the functioning of the democracy,” Dimitris Avramopoulos remarked.
