Italy grants Albania funding for anti-pollution effort

TIRANA, Albania -- The Italian government will give Albania 750,000 euros to buy two ships specially outfitted to fight coastal pollution, local media reported on Wednesday (August 26th).

The aid, announced during the visit of an Italian delegation, will be used by the Albanian Military Sea Brigade to help protect the environment.

Italy has assisted Albania's marine and military forces since 1997 and has contributed significantly to efforts to achieve NATO standards.
