At the Merdare administrative crossing, Serbian government's request for the return of one hundred to one thousand Serbian security forces to the territory of Kosovo and Metohija, according to Resolution 1244, was submitted to KFOR.

Members of the Serbian Armed Forces submitted the request to KFOR representatives.

Last night, the Government of Serbia made a decision to, in accordance with Resolution 1244 of the UN Security Council, send a request to KFOR for the return of up to a thousand members of Serbian security forces to the territory of Kosovo and Metohija.

President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, said on the TV program "Thursday at 9" that the decision was made unanimously, stressing that it would lead to a reduction in tensions. However, he noted that KFOR will probably decline Serbia's request.

The situation in Kosovo and Metohija is not calming down, because the representatives of the provisional authorities in Pristina continued to arrest Serbs. Sladjan Trajković was arrested last night in Bošnjačka Mahala, in northern Kosovska Mitrovica. He is one of the members of the Kosovo Police who left the service. The arrested man's wife said that he is allegedly being charged with a war crime.

Serbs are at the barricades for the seventh day.
