Podgorica, April 12, 2020 - The head of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro, Amfilohije, was arrested on Sunday in Podgorica.

Metropolitan Amfilohije has been arrested after a liturgy held in the Orthodox Church in the Zlatica neighborhood of Podgorica, which he led.

Three other priests and a group of believers who took part in the liturgy were arrested along with him for violating a decision banning rites at public religious sites. The decision was taken as part of measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus epidemic in Montenegro
