“Serbia and Albania could be pillar of stability”

BELGRADE – Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Veljko Odalovic has stated that it is important for Serbia and Albania to devote their effort to the recent events in Kumanovo, Macedonia, and he stressed that those two countries could be a pillar of stability in the region.

In comment to the news of Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic having talked to his Albanian counterpart Edi Rama on the phone, Odalovic has reminded that during Rama’s visit to Serbia it was agreed in general to have Vucic visit Tirana. Odalovic has told the RTS that the visit takes place at a delicate moment and it is important that Serbia and Albania deal primarily with the events in Kumanovo.
The actions of certain isolated extremist groups in this fragile region have the potential of spilling over to the Serbian territory and endangering the stability in the Balkans. It is therefore important that the two prime ministers discuss the issue, take some kind of joint stance and send adequate message, Odalovic explained.
