Kosovo Is My Second Country – Turkish PM

Prime Minister of Turkey, Tayyip Erdogan, at a rally in front of tens of thousands of citizens of Prizren and other Kosovo cities, said that Kosovo is his second country, reported RTS quoting Beta agency.

Speaking at a rally in Prizren together with Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, and Prime Minister of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, Turkish Prime Minister said that cultures of Turkey and Kosovo can be different, but their citizens belong to the same country.

“Dear brothers and friends, we have a common history of culture and civilization. Do not forget, Turkey is Kosovo and Kosovo is Turkey, we are so close that even the author of the Turkish national anthem, Mehmet Akif Ersoy is from Kosovo, from Pec,” said Erdogan.

Thaci thanked Erdogan on very close and comprehensive cooperation and said that relations between the two countries will always be great.

Kosovo Prime Minister recalled that Turkey was the first country to recognize the independence of Kosovo.

Rama said that Kosovo citizens, Albanians and Turks, are brotherly peoples hired to build their future.
