Retired Army of Serbia and Montenegro Security Administration Chief General Aco Tomić filed charges against Tadić in 2004 for abuse of office while he was a defense minister. Tadić made a decision to retire the general after he had been wrongfully arrested in the Saber police operation.
Tomić also filed charges against former Interior Minister Dušan Mihajlović, former Serbian government’s Information Bureau Vladimir Popović and former Army Chief of the General Staff Branko Krga. However, the statute of limitations has expired for charges against them so they will probably be called as witnesses.

Tomić claims that the former officials had connected him with the Zemun gang without any grounds, wrongfully arrested him and remanded him in custody for 100 days.

He received around RSD 6mn in damages for the time he wrongfully spent in custody.
