Defense Ministry, agreement with OSCE for chemicals

Defense Ministry, agreement with OSCE for
chemicals
Albanian Minister of Defense, Arben Imami, signed a technical agreement with the OSCE Ambassador, Eugen Wolfarth, for eliminating dangerous chemicals in the Albanian stock depots.

The agreement aims to eliminate the 83 tons of chemicals according to the European standards. The elimination process of these chemicals will be realized by a company with a long experience in this area, which will be contracted by the OSCE mission.

The elimination cost will be granted by the OSCE, while the Ministry of Defense will be tasked to transport them to the Durres port, where they will be loaded to a military ship.

The signature of these agreements removes a considerable amount of substances that are considered as very dangerous for the environment and life of residents who live near the military compounds.
