Albanian security: Guns for defending property

The Luz i Madh residents have started organizing for protecting the entering road of their village, in order to avoid thefts that increased during December.

The view of the revolted residents with hunting guns on their shoulders has apparently scared the thieves away, but the situation is not calm yet. Police has increased its presence in the area and is investigating, while the residents who made the occurrence public have been interrogated.

The low temperatures have obliged the residents to light up fires and keep guarding their property, mainly livestock, which has been targeted by the thieves recently. At night, the guarding residents have also fired in the air.

This village has been attacked by groups of thieves who target the livestock, from which the entire village makes a living. Sources from the Kavaja Police say that there have been no thefts during January, and the police have evaluated the situation and increased the presence.

The resident’s concern, expressed for Top Channel recently, has put the police in motion for keeping the lives and properties of the villagers safe.
