Rama invites Chinese investors to do business in Albania

Prime Minister Rama started a three day visit to Hong Kong. The economic Forum is the focus of the first visit. This forum was attended by about 100 entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and China, interested to invest in Albania and increase exchanges with our country.

In his speech, Prime Minister Edi Rama said Albania is a country with great potentials and is ready to welcome investors from China and Hong Kong.

"Today's event gives us the platform to discuss the current investments and the future in our country, because our government intends to expand the agenda of domestic investments, engaging in businesses and investment communities in Hong Kong and China.

The Albanian government, is engaged to reshape the pattern of economic development, according to real development resources, ranging from oil and minerals, to energy, tourism, agriculture and manufacturing. Albania offers to foreign investors comparative advantages in terms of geographical location, tax system, labor costs.

"Investing in Albania does not mean simply to invest in Albania, but to invest in a much wider market and having greater expansion in an area encompassing the entire Western Balkans. A few years ago it was impossible to imagine this area as a common market, but today it is in fact a common market. In terms of taxes and labor costs, we are in a very favorable position, but especially the labor cost is very low. I also share with you a very encouraging growth figure. We returned to a systematic trend growth. Last year it was 2.1%. At the end of the year we aim to achieve 2.7-3%, which is certainly not enough for our economy, but it is very encouragins", Rama said.

Also Albania, concluded his speech, the prime minister, it is a place worth coming not only to invest, but also for holidays. Tourism is a priority sector of the economy and has a high development potential.

"The main goal of ours is to make Albania more attractive for visitors from China, to create a tourist market for visitors from China. I am sure that people who are part of this industry and have invested abroad would see Albania as very attractive in this respect". Prime Minister Edi Rama will also meet with the governor of Hong Kong, Leung Chun-ying. /albeu.com/
