Kosovo, Albania may form “economic union”

TIRANA -- Kosovo Deputy PM Behgjet Pacolli and Trade Minister Mimoza Kusari-Lila have come up with an idea to create a common economic space between Kosovo and Albania.

They have presented their idea to Albanian parliament Speaker Jozefina Topalli.

“We have clear ideas for reforms in Kosovo. I am determined to present my ideas in order to economically strengthen and integrate the Albanian people,” Pacolli said during the meeting in Tirana on Friday.

His office said in a statement that the Albanian parliament speaker had welcomed the idea.

“It is very important to establish favorable business conditions. Mr. Pacolli understands this best,” she stressed.

Kusari-Lila called on the Albanian government to take necessary steps in order to facilitate business relations with Kosovo.
