Party accuses Montenegrin FM of cigarette smuggling

PODGORICA -- Movement for Changes (PZP) leader Nebojša Medojević has accused Montenegro’s Foreign Minister Milan Roćen of being behind the illegal cigarette trade.

He said at the Montenegrin parliament that smuggled cigarettes made at least 50 percent of tobacco products on the Montenegrin market.
“According to my information, the foreign minister and his people are behind the illegal cigarette trade in Montenegro,” the PZP leader stressed.

Medojević stated that those involved in the illegal cigarette trade earned EUR 25-30mn a year.

He added that the cigarette smuggling operations were predominantly carried out at the border between Montenegro and Kosovo and that there was no control over the smuggling whatsoever.
