Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Kotzias begins a five-day visit to the United States on Monday.
ATHENS
(Sputnik) — According to the press service of the Greek Foreign
Ministry, Kotzias is due to meet with US Secretary of State John Kerry
at the State Department Monday. A meeting with US presidential adviser
Susan Rice, as well as with the leadership of the Senate and House
of Representatives of the Congress is also scheduled.
On April 24, Kotzias is expected to meet with UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and UN Special Representative Matthew Nimetz in New York. Nimitz is UN's representative for the naming dispute between Greece and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. On the same day, a meeting with Archbishop Demetrios of America, the current archbishop of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese, is scheduled. During a visit to the United States, Kotzias will also meet with the representatives of the Greek diaspora and US-Jewish organizations, as well as with the heads of major think tanks.
