"Shekulli: "Greece blocks us to EU candidate status"



Venizelos: "The Copenhagen criteria, good neighborliness, respect for international law, respect for European law must be respecting from Albania".

This is the statement of the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Greece, Evangelos Venizelos, a few days after official visit to Tirana .

"We have an agreement with Albania on maritime demarcation in general, an agreement is signed and agreed which initially was ratified by the Greek and Albanian side and the law is impaired by a decision of the Constitutional Court of Albania .

I ask Albania in accordance with International Law of the Sea , to conclude the process of drafting the agreement . Principles can not be changed , because the principles are the only International Sea Law .
There is , perhaps , the technical issues that we are willing to review the level of a technical committee . There are two options : Option of International Law of the Sea and European Union, and is also the option of challenging the International Law of the Sea and European practice .

Albania says it is a place ready to accept EU . We support the European perspective of Albania , we want to provide assistance and technical support , but there are some prerequisites .
