KOSOVSKA MITROVICA -- Unidentified individuals threw
an explosive device on the balcony of Ninoslav Đerić in northern
Kosovska Mitrovica on Saturday.
There were no casualties, but there was some property damage caused to the apartment where Đerić lives with his wife and daughter, according to Tanjug.
The device was most likely a hand grenade. The Kosovo police arrived later to investigate.
Serbia's office for Kosovo has condemned the incident.
"This is another attempt to strike fear into the Serbs, which should stop them from voting in the coming local elections in Kosovo and winning in those elections. It is another provocation in northern Kosovska Mitrovica, happening less than 24 hours after the previous one." the office said.
"Only victory in the elections on November 3 will lead to the establishment of an association of Serb municipalities, which the Serbs will use to decide their fate and that of their children," the office noted.
"Only someone who does not want that and is trying to push Belgrade permanently out of Kosovo is the culprit of this crime... The Serbian people will not give up on taking control of their fate, and Belgrade will be with its people in Kosovo more than ever before," the statement said.
The office "demands that the authorities take this and all the previous incidents very seriously, as well as their potential consequences," Tanjug reported
