Miting of the Republic of "Self-proclaimed Chameria" in Vlora City

Gathering of the Self Proclaimed Republic of Chameria in Vlora City 2017

After some years of political party efforts in Albania to create a conflict situation between Albania and Greece on issues of the Law of War and the properties of the Chameria Community, recently appeared in South of Albania, rallies organized by the "Government of the Republic Chameria in Exile "

Starting from Vlora, this organization took place in the city's central square, followed by several hundred citizens, at the end of which a concert was held.

In this gathering, twas not the presence of the Leader of the "Chameria Republic" Festim Lato, who lives in the Netherlands and enabled direct contact at the rally. From Vlora, the leaders of this organization, call on the US and the EU to intensify Chameria Community rights to return to their lands after 70 years.

This organization is not recognized by Greece, even its territorial threat, while a series of meetings of its self-proclaimed leader Festim Lato, the "Exiled Party of the Republic of Chameria", headquartered in the Netherlands, has been conducted in European chancellery.

In October 2016, Greece, displayed a very critical note for the EU Enlargement Commissioner Hun, who had included in the EU Progress Report on the EU, the iridious aspects of Albania's Foreign National Politic Strategy , as was Chameria Issue.

Another paradox is the fact that Vlora, known as the headquarters of Albanian nationalism, where it was established from 1912, is sometimes referred to as the opposite of this story, while in the 1997 during the Civil War, it became the center of the organization of armed uprisings, against the totalitarian power of Tirana, and in some cases, sought union with Greece.
