Albania, Montenegro eyeing joint projects to attract investors

TIRANA, Feb. 23 (Xinhua) -- Albanian Minister of Economic Development, Trade, Tourism and Entrepreneurship Arben Ahmetaj said Monday that regional cooperation and drafting of joint projects is needed for the development of the region.

During the joint conference with his Montenegrin counterpart, Vladimir Kavaric, which was held after a bilateral meeting, Ahmetaj said that the drafting of joint projects would make possible the attraction of strategic investors, according to Albanian Daily News.

"We have agreed to draft joint development projects to present them on Aug. 27, 2015 when the governments of the region will gather in Vienna," Ahmetaj said.

Both ministers underlined the necessity of a common touristic package and the introduction of as many low cost companies as possible in the market.

At present, Albania does not have a low cost airline company and Albanian citizens have to pay expensive prices to fly towards various destinations in other countries.
