The antidrug department in Greece has destroyed an international network that trafficked large quantities of narcotics and had connections with several European countries.
The police arrested a 40-year-old Albanian citizen, resident of Athens, who is considered to be the head of this network. He was on the most wanted list of Greek and Swiss authorities for drug traffic.
Two other people have also been arrested, a 49-year-old Greek wine producer in Corinth, and a Cypriot, owner of a truck parking.
Police is also looking for another 24-year-old Albanian man, but his name was not public for investigation reasons.
The Greek Police has seized 142 kg of cannabis, half of which was to be sent in Greece and the rest in Cyprus. Among the seized objects there were two AK-47 guns with 192 bullets; three handguns; two hunting rifles; 140 bullets of different calibres; four cars; 4000 EUR and 11 cellphones.
The investigations concluded that the network distributed the drug in European countries through their trucks.
