Premier Berisha receives European Commission Director General for Enlargement, Mr. Stefano Sannino
Premier Berisha received today the European Commission Director General for Enlargement, Mr. Stefano Sannino, accompanied by Ambassador of EC delegation in Tirana, Mr. Ettore Sequi.

Heartily welcoming him, Premier Berisha thanked Mr. Sannino for interest, attention and continuous support provided by him personally and European Commission for Albania and its integration into European Union.

In this respect, Premier Berisha emphasized that the Albanian government remains totally committed to implementing all the reforms, taking all the measures and making the utmost to rapidly push ahead with the major project of the Albanians, the EU membership, as the best interest of Albania, adding that the Albanian government strongly believes that this process must be completely based on performance and merit.

Later on, Premier Berisha informed Mr. Sannino of the great job carried out so far with successful reforms and their results in the course of this period in all fields. The Premier praised the support of European Commission and other EU institutions and other actors in this cooperation process, especially during meetings with Albanian part.

Premier Berisha informed Mr. Sannino of the work carried out in the course of recent months for drafting and approval of the plan addressing the EU requirements and reaffirmed the full determination of government to undertake every step to meet these obligations, hoping opposition would not make efforts to hamper this process. In this respect, Premier Berisha focused on issues of immunity lifting, considering it a fundamental step of great importance in fight against corruption. The Premier pointed to the full engagement of the Albanian government to rapidly push ahead will all the reforms included in the Action Plan for the addressing of 12 requirements, which include among other things the electoral reform, changes to Parliament procedures, digital registration of the properties, approval of law on Administrative Court, etc.
