U.S. Ambassador Donald Lu and Albanian Minister of Defense Mimi
Kodheli, visited today the USS Forrest Sherman ship anchored in Vlora.
The navy is part of the U.S. Sixth Fleet, which enjoys a very active
cooperative relationship with Albanian Navy. This relationship includes
regular exercises between transiting U.S. Navy ships and Albania’s
Navy. These exercises improve our interoperability and strengthen our
common ability to provide maritime security in the Adriatic and Ionian
Seas.
“The bond between our two navies is just one facet of the broad and enduring military-to-military relationship between our two countries, exemplified most recently by our shared service and sacrifice in Afghanistan as part of the enduring NATO mission there,” said Ambassador Donald Lu during his visit to the USS Forrest Sherman ship anchored in Vlora.
