Agreement for TAP project signed

The Minister of Economy, Trade and Energy, Florian Mima, signed the agreement for the Trans Adriatic Pipeline project.

This document increases the chances for the project to win over Nabuco, the rival project, in the selection that will be made in June.

This agreement decides the key processes in the development of such projects, such as the purchase of lands, the permit process, the technical standards, the security of environmental and social standards, and the implementation of health and security standards”, declared Kjetill Tungland.

“This is my first signature in this institution and it makes me very proud that it is translated in billions of USD of direct and indirect investments, with more than 20.000 jobs and more incomes for the Albanian citizens”, declared Minister Mima.

With a value of 1 billion EUR, TAP could be one of the biggest investments in Albania, turning it into an important node for the distribution of Caspian gas in Central Europe.
