Macedonia lives in uncertainty, ethnic fears, contradictions, says EU envoy

Macedonia lives in some uncertainty, ethnic fears and contradictions. For certain months there has been some climate of uncertainty about where the country is heading to, says EU envoy to Macedonia Erwan Fouere, Macedonian Vecer daily reports.

Fouere thinks that the government of PM Nikola Gruevski should focus on reforms and strengthening the political dialog as the best way to cope with the mistrust and the advantages provided by Macedonia’s multiethnic character.

The EU envoy recommends that the country pays particular attention on the municipalities on the borders to Albania and Kosovo, which are considered highly delicate and which require harder economic efforts.
