Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama conferred on Thursday with Serbian Minister of Education Srdjan Verbic and a group of students from Serbia and apologized for the incident in which a bus transporting Serbian football team was stoned.
You are aware that even neighbors go at each other during football matches, and though it is important for Albania to win, or Serbia to score a victory as the minister (Verbic) may put it, the most important matter is for proper conduct to triumph as a quality we represent together, Rama said.

The Albanian prime minister voiced regret over the fact that, as he said, a young man aged 14 or 15 threw a stone at a bus transporting the Serbian football team late on Wednesday.

Rama said that this is a proof that a lot of work still remains to be done since the older generation nurtures hatred against changes and is brining the dreams of the new world into jeopardy over nationalism and the spirit of hatred.

Rama conferred with Serbian students in the building of the Albanian government and expressed gratitude to them for the gifts they brought him.

Before the meeting, the official welcome ceremony for Minister Verbic and Serbian students was organized by Albanian Minister of Education Lindita Nikolla and 60 Albanian students whose families will provide accommodation for the guests.
