Leader of France’s National Front party Marine Le Pen said that it's shocking for France to have no relations with Russia.
MOSCOW
(Sputnik) — Leader of France’s National Front party Marine Le Pen
stressed on Sunday the need to establish a close partnership
with Russia.
"We support Europe from Brest [Belarus] to Vladivostok [Russia], a stronger partnership with Russia," Le Pen said on Twitter.
"It's shocking to have no relations with Russia," another tweet by the National Front leader read.
Russia's relations with the West deteriorated sharply in 2014
over the Ukraine crisis. The United States, the European Union and their
allies accused Moscow of meddling in Ukraine's internal affairs and
introduced several rounds of anti-Russia sanctions.
Marine Le Pen has repeatedly urged to restore relations with Moscow and expressed support for Russia's foreign policy, including in the context of the Ukrainian crisis.
