Cefa under investigation for property compensation
The Prosecution of Tirana confirmed a case against the vice chairman of the High Council of Justice, Elvis Cefa, over power abuse while he was leading the Property Return and Compensation Agency.

The confirmation of the Prosecution was made for the Parliamentary Investigation Commission and for the two HCJ members chosen by the Parliament.

This commission made an information request to the Prosecution after Taulant Balla, one of the commission’s members, published a letter that the formder Vice Chief of the State Police, Agron Kulicaj, had sent to the then Interior Minister, Bujar Nishani, who had been informed about the violations of Cefa as Chief of the Agency for Public and Private Property Modification.

It is still unclear if this letter was used as basis for the investigations against Cefa.

“This is still under investigation. This is an information that we must take in consideration. This is about the activities of Mr.Cefa during the time that he was General Chief of the Agency for Property Compensation”, declared the Socialist Movement for Integration MP, Spartak Braho.

This confirmation by the Prosecution will be reflected in the final report of this Commission, as its members confirmed.

Chairman Armand Subashi read some preliminary conclusions of the Commission, based on the documentation that arrived from the HCJ. He says that several violations have been found, starting from the delays and to the appointing of magistrates with a conflict of interest. These conclusions will be presented to Elvis Cefa and Lulzim Lelcaj in a hearing session on Thursday.
