Albania the mostly country in Europe for racism, holds a Conference for intolerance

Berisha: Proud of religious tolerance in Albania

OSCE in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a conference on discrimination and intolerance. The meeting was also attended by the Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, who said that our country is an example of religious tolerance, whereas according to his problem is domestic violence.

"Intolerance and discrimination issues are a very old thing. They created our civilizations to the most barbarous ages. These issues are truly multi-dimensional. In this country, religious violence in Albania was never a serious problem, and I am proud to have. Religious tolerance has always existed, but we can not say the same for domestic violence or homophobia. In fact it is an unfavorable situation for him, "said Berisha.

Wake: Cases prosecuted hate

Dauglas Wake, director and member of the ODIHR said that manifestations of intolerance continue to be vulnerable every year in the OSCE region from extreme violence to murder people. "We are committed to fighting crime, but on the other hand do not have accurate data. We are committed to supporting minority subject to discrimination. The countries concerned should take necessary measures. Prosecute hate crime with stiff penalties. Civil society should be involved in these problems, "he said.
