Skopje. Albanian Prime Minister Sali Berisha said in Tirana on Monday that the idea of an ethnic Albania was born in Kosovo, the Macedonian newspaper Vecer writes.

According to Berisha Albanians’ goal is unification of nation. The newspaper says that at the initiative of the Kosovan embassy in Albania a conference about Kosovo’s role in Albania’s independence took place in Tirana on Monday. PM Berisha addressed the attendees, noting that Albanians should again examine their history.

The history of the Albanian nation, despite all hurdles, is one of the richest on the continent. The whole truth should be known. The historical facts should be known, as the 100th anniversary of the country’s independence is celebrated. Albania’s history was a target of frequent manipulations and, in Kosovo, of a ban, said Berisha.

He added that Kosovo’s role in Albania’s establishment was big and essential to all Albanians. It is necessary to do everything possible to make physical boundaries inessential. Albanians’ position can be nothing else, but unification in one nation, said Berisha.

According to him the Albanian nation is present in the Balkans forcibly. He said that it was one the most common ones in the Balkan Peninsula and before the independence it was a nation without a state.
The events in Kosovo are the best reply to the positions against Albanians, said Berisha.
