Reaction of MFA against the calls for blocking the border with Serbia

Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Albania condemns the extremist calls to some Albanians in Kosovo and Albania to block the border with Serbia.

Such actions, as imitation of Serbian extremist policies, has nothing in common with the sacrifices and constructive efforts of all Albanians to build a democratic state of Kosovo, a multiethnic society, a state that builds and develops the good relations with neighbors, in-service to peace and stability in Kosovo and the region.

The use of nationalist and pseudo-patriotic rhetoric, in function of the partisan political agenda, does not serve the major objectives of the Albanians for the integration of each of the states where they live in their homes, in the European Union, and not help for new recognitions for Kosovo's new state

We express the confidence that the energies of these political forces should focus in the process of internal reform, leading to the consolidation of the democratic state of Kosovo, the integration of all communities, and open relationship based on mutual respect between the sovereign independent states.
