Greater Albania, a threat to peace in the Balkans, Moscow reacts harshly to Tirana and Pristina, and draws the EU's attention.

SManalysis

A statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry on the meeting in Tirana between the two Prime Ministers of Albania and Kosovo has alarmed Moscow, which has recalled that Greater Albania is being created, upsetting the balance between the Balkan states through initiatives by changing "De Facto" borders of sovereign states.

But Moscow sees this intervention also because the EU has not pronounced, for the statement of Greater Albania. It is even surprising that a few days ago, Greek Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias visited Pristina, who did not say a word about the Rama-Hoti meeting in Durres.

Greece seeks to intervene for a possible recognition of Kosovo on its part, in exchange for the benefit from Tirana, of the Maritime Agreement with Albania, but Tirana has "started" a possible union with Pristina, and it seems that it has no priority, about the urgent Greek request for AOZ.

The Press Release of Moscow

Commentary by the Department of Information and Press of the Russian Foreign Ministry in connection with the joint meeting of the Government of Albania and the "government" of Kosovo

"We have received with concern the reports about the October 2 this year. in Tirana a joint meeting of the Government of Albania, etc. The "government" of Kosovo. The documents signed during the event, as well as the statements of its participants, raise serious questions.

The thesis about the need to "erase the borders" between Albania and Kosovo cannot but be alarming. I would like to remind you that Kosovo (and this is confirmed by UN Security Council Resolution 1244) is an integral part of the Republic of Serbia, and the free treatment of the principle of territorial integrity in relation to a sovereign state cannot be regarded as anything other than gross interference in its internal affairs. The announcement of intentions of this kind damages the process of Kosovo settlement, nullifies the efforts aimed at finding a mutually acceptable solution to the problem within the framework of the negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina.

We regard in a similar way the agreements reached at the aforementioned meeting, which determine the Albanian-Kosovo “merger” in various sectoral areas.

There is an unambiguous impression that, despite the dubious and risky nature of their "rapprochement," the tyrannical and Pristina authorities continue to bend the Great Albanian line, no matter how they draped their own plans. Such actions pose a real threat to peace and stability in the Balkan region. We count on a clear reaction to this activity from the international community - first of all, the European Union, which has been entrusted by the UN General Assembly with the mission of mediator in the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue".
