TIRANA, Albania
Albania says it will start building a new 22,300-seat national stadium in the capital city.
Albanian soccer federation spokesman Tritan Kokona says the 50 million euro ($56.7 million) project is expected to start next month and be completed in three years.
The National Arena will be built in Tirana, where the old Qemal Stafa Stadium stands. Italian firm Archea will draw up the plans for the stadium and it will be built by Albanian company Albstar.
Albania surprisingly qualified for the European Championship from a group that included Denmark and Serbia. At Euro 2016, Albania will play in Group A with host France, Romania and Switzerland.
