MOSCOW
(Sputnik) – Athens will ask the Eurogroup to prolong the Greek bailout
program for several weeks as the country has to prepare for a referendum
on the conditions of the debt deal with international creditors,
Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis said Saturday.
The minister added that whether Greece would meet the June 30
deadline for its $1.7-billion debt payment to the International Monetary
Fund (IMF) depends on the flexibility of the country’s creditors,
Reuters news agency reported.
