Tom Doshi: "They want to kill me", SP expels Doshi

The Socialist Party has expelled today from its parliamentary group Tom Doshi. Just like he said in a media briefing some days ago, Doshi did not wait for the meeting to end, but left the room and spoke to the journalists.

"Edi Rama today has a tutor and he is Ilir Meta, who ordered my assassination and that of Mhill Fufi. I've said such thing to Rama and Meta 5 months ago, and said the same things to the Chief prosecutor of Serious Crimes.

I also informed the US Senate. The person who has accepted to do such thing, met with the Minister of Interior Affairs, Saimir Tahiri. I have proof of what i'm saying", he said.

Doshi also said that he will not give up on politics.

"I won't to any other party, but I am able to create a new one, and even come out with 60 candidates in the entire country," he said.

The United States welcomes the decision of the Socialist Party of Albania to expel Mr. Tom Doshi, who is alleged to be involved in criminal activities. The United States takes seriously the threat of crime and corruption to free and democratic societies. We encourage all political parties in Albania to remove individuals involved in criminal or corrupt activities. We strongly support the work of the Parliament to develop legislation in accordance with the Resolution of December 24, 2014. Furthermore, we call upon the Prosecutor General of Albania to investigate and prosecute criminals and corrupt officials at all levels.
