Jailed Golden Dawn leaders to be released on bail

Golden Dawn leader Nikos Michaloliakos and senior deputy Christos Pappas will be released from custody ahead of their trial tentatively scheduled for April.

Prosecutors decided on their release by March 29 when the maximum 18-month period in pre-trial custody expires.

The Golden Dawn members are facing charges of forming and running a criminal organiσation.

Prosecutors will impose strict restrictions for their release.

Michaloliakos will be under house arrest and he will have to pay 125,000 euros bail.

Pappas, among other restrictions, is forbidden from travelling beyond Attica region.
