“Supporting families of fallen officers”
The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama; the Minister of Interir, Saimir Tahiri, and the highest executives of the Albanian state police, commemorated today all the police police officers who have fallen on their line of duty.

The relatives of 254 police officers who have given their life in the battle against crime, received a message from the Prime Minister that they are not a second hand issue, but the state will do everything possible to give them support. Rama declared that everything will be done on behalf of the law by fighting crime.

“Nowhere else have we seen such a high number of fallen officers, with crime gaining territory. But nowhere else more than here are there reasons for revenging their lives on behalf of the law, on behalf of the police officers that have been brutally killed by criminals who most of the times had political support. We will revenge on behalf of their mothers, who today have remained without a father and without a husband. We will take revenge on behalf of the future that wants us to be in the height of their memory”.

Being aware of the difficulties that the blue uniforms are facing in their mission, Rama promised a change of this situation.

“I trust that next October we will come here with our head high, because we would have done one of our duties for every family of the State Police witnesses, doing this way our first duty towards them. Not only towards their families, but also to the women who are now alone, and none of them will be unemployed in the next year”, Rama declared.

Tahiri’s message was direct when he said that the main principle will be the fact that police officers are untouchable.

“Our holy mission is to build the Albania that the children of the fallen police are dreaming today. The Interior Ministry promises to do everything possible to complete this solemn commitment of the government and Prime Minister, for all the fallen police officers. We will find a shelter and employment to all families of the fallen police. All their wives will be employed and all orphans will be educated. The basic principle in our duty is that the police officers will be untouchable”, Tahiri declared.

The Minister of Interior added that they are working for reviewing the files of the killed police officers, and that they are preparing a plan for making easier life conditions for their relatives.
