Rama: Justice will say the last word for Gjika

Rama: Justice will say the last word for Gjika
One day after the Prosecution announced the case opened against the Mayor of Vlore, Shpetim Gjika, accused of power abuse for giving illegal construction permits, the Prime Minister makes his first anouncement.

“Shpetim Gjika is a friend and a high figure of the Socialist Party, heading one of the most important cities of Albania. The charges of the Prosecution and the facts that they claim are very serious. We all feel bad about this articulation, and we all hope that these scandalous charges will not stand. We will not become the political shield of any defendant charged of corruption and power abuse. Not today, not ever”, Rama declared.

Rama told the Socialist Parliamentary Group that justice must do its job.

“We all have our obligation to 1 million of Albanian people who elected us to fight corruption in every level, without making any distinction. We want justice to do its job, without political obstacles. There is no doubt that our desire is to see Gjika freed from all charges and we hope that the Socialist Mayor of Vlore will prove his innocence with credible facts”, Rama declared.

After this encouragement for justice to complete its mission, Rama declared that he will stau close to Gjika in this situation.

“As a Socialist and friend of Shpetim Gjika, I feel bad for him and I will be close to him and his family, even if he has done this big mistake, as the Prosecution claims. As leader of the Sp and Prime Minister of this country, I can only encourage the Prosecution and justice to do their job to the end. We can wait from justice and politics to say its last word”, Rama declared.
