Greece will not deter immigrants
The Greek government ordered all the police departments in the regions bordering Albania not to block the movement of Albanian citizens, whose passports have problems with toponyms.

The order was delivered just hours after the meeting of the Greek Minister of Defence; Nikos Dendias had in Athens, with the new appointed Minister of Interior in the new government, Saimir Tahiri.

During the one hour-long meeting, the main issue was the topographical problem and Tahiri asked not to block the movement of citizens in the border until the final resolution of the issue of toponyms from the foreign ministries of the two countries.

One other topic they discussed was the cooperation between them, as well as the fast exchange of police information on both sides of the border, destroying criminal gangs and blocking traffic in narcotics.

Mr. Tahiri demanded the establishment of an information exchange centre in major border points linking the two countries, in order to avoid the problems of immigrants and Albanian citizens, to ensure freedom of movement, dignity of citizens and the respect for principle of reciprocity.

Meanwhile, sources from the meeting told to “Top Channel” that the Greek authorities asked for the Albanian help to arrest the remaining part of the gang of Albanian prisoners who escaped from prison of Trikalla months ago, where according to them, the number one fugitive Ilir Kupa and his collaborators are still free, escaping justice.

Greek party suspects that the members of this gang are hiding in Albania, and asked to intensify their operations to capture them.

On his part, Mr. Tahiri was convinced that the ministry that he will lead will show zero tolerance in fighting organized crime.

They agreed on frequent communication and immediate solution to the problems that concern police of both countries.
