Macedonia, opposition boycotts elections
In Macedonia, today at midnight expired deadline for submission of lists for competition in the local elections of 24 March.
According to the Electoral Code expired midnight Saturday deadline for submission of lists of candidates for mayor and municipal councilors, while Macedonian opposition gave no list of candidates standing behind its decision to boycott the election, after find a solution to overcome the crisis Macedonian political party in the ruling VMRO-DPMNE.
Lists of candidates for municipal councils and the lists of candidates for the municipalities, authorized representatives of the parties submitted to the Municipal Election Commissions, but this only made the coalition parties VMRO-DPMNE and DUI, DPA opposition Albanian parties and the DRC, 29 independent candidates and 95 independent lists for counselors.
Local elections are scheduled for March 24, while the opposition came up with an application that those prolongohen for a month and will be held on April 28, with the additional requirement that in the event of the victory of the opposition after six months announced early parliamentary elections.
