Greek-Americans Organized Fundraiser for Obama

The organization Greek-Americans for Obama organized a benefit event supporting President Barack Obama in  his re-election campaign.

Many attended an event which was held at the restaurant Loi in Manhattan. Among them were Aravella Simotas, a member of the New York Assembly; Communications Workers of American N.Y. President Arthur Heliotis; N.Y. City Council candidate Peter Maroudas, and Greek-Americans for Obama officials Ted Anstasiou and George Papaioannou.

The speakers highlighted the main differences between the two candidates, Obama and Republican nominee Mitt Romney,, the former governor of Massachusetts. They said that Obama and his Vice-President, Joe Biden, are strong supporters of the middle class.
“President Obama supported Greece in this financial crisis, as he is well aware of Greek issues,”Maroudas said, without explaining how.
