The closely guarded agenda for the annual gathering features several panels aimed at bringing the captains of industry up to speed on current events across the globe.
On Wednesday, a panel on Iran and Israel features Washington Post columnist David Ignatius. On Thursday, former NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw will moderate a panel focusing on China that will feature Muhtar Kent, chairman and chief executive of Coca-Cola Co. There will also be plenty of politics. On Thursday, former White House Chief of Staff Erskine Bowles and former Wyoming Sen. Alan Simpson, who together co-chaired President Obama's National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility and Reform, will lead a discussion on the economy. Friday will have "Good Morning America" anchor George Stephanopoulos interviewing New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel.
The conference will close Saturday with former CIA Director George Tenet chatting with current director David Petraeus. Also, Oprah Winfrey will interview Warren Buffet.
Top media executives attending the Sun Valley conference include News Corp. Chairman Rupert Murdoch, CBS CEO Leslie Moonves, Disney Chairman Bob Iger, Discovery President David Zaslav, NBA Commissioner David Stern and ESPN chief John Skipper.
