The threat of isolation in Kosovo
January 4, 2011.
There is a high risk of increasing political isolation of Kosovo, says Tim Juneau, a political analyst and journalist in the Western Balkans.
Albanian analyst suggested that while Kosovo is tightly tied to the states around it, they may begin to destabilize, if the new government that will emerge will be located amid accusations of theft of votes in elections and categories that Hashim Thaci was involved in trafficking in human organs. This whole set could lead to unpredictable consequences.
Juneau said the Belgrade-Pristina talks will be one of the main events of 2011, but will not offer anything of substance to bring the two parties.
"A kind of talks, a level achieved, anyway, because both sides pressed for them. Maybe not enough just the start of talks. It also creates problems the will of the Brussels talks to start from less important issues and then go to serious political issues, "said analyst Albanian news agency 'Srna'.
