Former president Alfred Moisiu turned 94 this Friday, December 1. In an interview given to Euronews Albania, Moisiu said that age takes its toll, but he still feels good, despite the seasonal viruses that circulate in this period.

"Now it is known that age takes its toll, even more so when it is the season of the flu, of course there are problems, but we say that we will hold on," Moisiu said.

He also focused on developments in global geopolitics, where he underlined that the world is not calm.

Bringing attention to the attack in Basnjka and the conflicts taking place in Ukraine and Israel, Moisiu appealed that Albania and Kosovo prepare to withstand a possible military attack for a certain time.

"The world is not calm and it is up to us to think about these problems, to be ready and to take measures because anything can happen. It is known that before every big storm small storms start.

The war in Ukraine is a storm, the war with Hamas started, but there are also problems on our border between Kosovo and Serbia. There have been dangerous attempts and big problems can be opened.

This should make politicians and soldiers think about their respective part. Regardless of what happens in Ukraine and Israel, we must see what is happening here in Kosovo.

We as a nation need to think about how we should protect ourselves. Despite the fact that half of us is part of NATO, we have to face the attack of potential enemies on our own for a certain time, and this requires serious measures and serious economic and military preparations", said Moisiu.
