The barricades of Serbs protesting the arrest of former policeman Dejan Pantić entered their fifth day.

The north of Kosovo and Metohija was also blocked by the Kosovo police and the Brnjak and Jarinje check points is not even possible to cross on foot.

Necessary medicines for the arrested Dejan Pantić were delivered through EULEX only four days after the arrest.

KFOR: We are closely monitoring the situation
The UN peacekeeping mission led by NATO in Kosovo and Metohija (KFOR) announced that it is closely monitoring the events in the north of the province and added that it is in close contact with the representatives of Pristina and Serbian forces, reports Reporter.

According to Reporters, KFOR did not answer whether it will participate in the removal of barricades in the north.

"KFOR remains extremely vigilant and fully capable of implementing its UN mandate to provide a safe environment and freedom of movement for all communities living in Kosovo. This includes increasing patrols in the north of Kosovo, in close cooperation with the Kosovo Police and EULEX," it is stated in the announcement.



Media: Pristina signs the request for Kosovo's membership in the European Union

The ceremony of signing the request for Kosovo's membership in the European Union is being held today in Pristina, the KoSSev portal reported. Referring to Pristina media, the portal writes that the Kosovo presidency announced that the ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m. They add that "the submission will be signed by the President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the Speaker of the Kosovo Parliament Glauk Konjufca". A press conference is planned after the meeting.
